Report Shows Swiss Link to Cardiac Science

Swiss investor Ernst Mueller-Moehl holds a 25.4% stake in Cardiac Science Inc., a cardiac-device manufacturer based in Irvine, according to regulatory documents.

Mueller-Moehl reported holding 2 million Cardiac Science shares, according to a report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. His stake includes warrants to buy 375,000 shares for $2.50 apiece, the filing said.

Cardiac Science develops and manufactures noninvasive cardiac defibrillator devices and software that help increase survival rates of heart attack victims. Mueller-Moehl is the former chief executive of Bank am Bellevue AG.

Cardiac Science shares rose 38 cents to $2.50. The stock has gained about 13% so far this year.
