The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public’s help in locating three fugitives wanted for crimes ranging from attempted murder to failure to follow court orders. Arrest warrants have been issued for each suspect.
On Dec. 6, 1998, Santiago Solorio, also known as Rodrigo Monroe or Chago, and an accomplice, Gabriel Meza, allegedly took Gaspar Salto from his house on Edison Lane in Fillmore at gunpoint.
The pair allegedly took Salto to a small rental home located in the 800 block of Edison Way and shot him in the head, cut his throat, beat him with a baseball bat and fled. Salto later staggered to the roadway where he was found. He was treated at Ventura County Medical Center and released.
Deputies believe the pair assaulted Salto because he would not sell drugs for them. Salto is a self-employed gardener with a wife and four small children. He was an acquaintance of one of his attackers, authorities said.
Solorio and Meza, both 31, were last known to have lived in Fillmore.
Solorio is Latino, 5 feet 7, 140 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He has a roadrunner and rose tattooed on his upper left arm.
Meza is Latino, 5 feet 9, 200 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
Deputies are also searching for Justin Andrew George, 31, who was convicted in Ventura County of spousal abuse and given special orders to follow by the court, which he failed to heed, authorities said.
George last lived at 520 Canon Perdidio in Santa Barbara. George is black, 5 feet 9, 185 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information should call Ventura County Crime Stoppers at 385-TALK or 494-TALK.
