Los Angeles Police Chief Bernard Parks will come to Tujunga next week to talk about crime problems and public safety issues.
As part of a continuing effort to bring important meetings out into the community, members of the Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners plan to hold a special evening meeting Feb. 23. Parks has attended similar meetings in other neighborhoods.
The public is invited to attend to ask questions, ask for help or just talk about crime.
City Councilman Joel Wachs is scheduled to be a guest speaker at the grass-roots meeting, designed to help make government more accessible to residents.
The meeting will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Sunland-Tujunga Municipal Building, 7747 Foothill Blvd., Tujunga. For information, call the Police Commission at (213) 485-3531, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
