Guild, Producers Agree on ‘Downtowners’ Contract

Negotiators for the Writers Guild of America and Castle Rock Television agreed to a new contract covering writers on “The Downtowners,” a prime-time animated series scheduled to debut in the fall. The agreement settles a National Labor Relations Board case alleging that a Warner Bros. executive and Castle Rock Television, now part of Warner parent Time Warner, improperly negotiated a contract with a cartoonists guild instead of with the writers guild.
