Nobility Blossoms

Today through Feb. 21, the Westminster Mall hosts its annual Asian Festival, to commemorate the Lunar New Year. One of this year’s themes is Noble Flowers, which are often depicted in Asian arts. Westminster Mall will display the works of critically acclaimed Chinese artist Xianoxing Yu on the cover of its Asian Festival program. Each of the four courts in the shopping center will be dedicated to one of the noble flowers:
PLUM BLOSSOM
Blooming in the winter, the beautiful blossoms symbolize fearlessness as their noble characteristic.
ORCHID
The orchid is symbolic of simplicity and inner beauty. Graceful, light and tranquil, it seems to radiate joy.
BAMBOO
A hollow interior makes bamboo flexible, but it is also strong. It endures in a variety of environments and grows abundantly throughout Asian countries. Modesty is its noble characteristic.
CHRYSANTHEMUM
This flower flourishes in autumn, as if rebellious in nature. Blooming beautifully under adverse conditions, it demonstrates longevity and prosperity.
