SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

Nearly 100 wrapped gifts, delivered by an anonymous donor, flooded the front room of the Police Service building, according to Orange County sheriff’s authorities.
The gifts were delivered specifically for children, Sgt. Gus De La Torre said.
Sheriff’s deputies took the gifts to the Mission San Juan Capistrano on Friday where they will be distributed to families in need.
“The donor asked to remain anonymous,” De La Torre said. “She said that the glow on the children’s faces from the presents is enough of a thank you.”
Minutes after the gifts were delivered, mission employees already had an idea of who would receive one first.
“There are some people living out of cars with their children,” said Jerry Nieblas, purchasing agent at the mission. “We know they’re out there, and we’re going to help.”
