CRA Appointment

The Los Angeles City Council’s appointment of attorney Doug Ring to the board of the Community Redevelopment Agency (Dec. 15) seriously diminishes my support for Ring’s wife, my councilwoman, Cindy Miscikowski. Amid great public apathy and hostility toward our elected representatives, Miscikowski and her husband, supported by the City Council, have essentially responded, “Who cares?”

Surely among Miscikowski’s hundreds of thousands of constituents there are a few people who would match or exceed her husband’s qualifications to serve on the CRA board without any hint of conflict of interest, cronyism or nepotism. Mentored by Marvin Braude, Miscikowski should have learned more.
