ARIZONA STATE (6-5) vs. WAKE FOREST (6-5)
* When: 12:30 p.m.
* Television: Channel 7
* Update: The Sun Devils will start Griff Goodman at quarterback and also will use John Leonard against the Demon Deacons. The Sun Devils are without starter Ryan Kealy, sidelined because of an injured right knee. Goodman, who did not play quarterback in high school because he was a teammate of former Ohio State quarterback Joe Germaine, replaced Kealy against UCLA. In that game, Goodman led the Sun Devils on a game-winning 80-yard touchdown drive with no timeouts and 53 seconds to play, averting a 1-3 start and possibly saving the team’s season. Wake Forest is led by quarterback Ben Sankey, who was a backup for three seasons and had considered transferring before this season. Wake Forest, with 23 fifth-year seniors on the squad, is making its first bowl appearance since 1992. Arizona State is in a bowl for the third time in four seasons.
