Hooray! The Dodgers have signed their savior, Orel Hershiser, to stabilize a sinking ship and compensate for the loss of one of the finer young talents and leadoff man deluxe. Another blockbuster deal, a 41-year-old to replace a 26-year-old talent. Let’s see, gone are Piazza, Valdes, Cedeno, Mlicki, Astacio, Young, Charles Johnson, Zeile and Nomo. Can you guess whom the Dodgers got in return, still with the club? Hundley and Sheffield, plus a bunch of “future all-stars.” My sincere congratulations to everybody connected to the Dodger front office.
