Cal Lutheran Defeats Chapman, 91-70

Danny Sweeney led all scorers with 30 points Saturday as Cal Lutheran defeated Chapman, 91-70, in a nonconference men’s basketball game at Chapman.
Cal Lutheran took a 46-40 halftime lead and never trailed after that.
Chapman was led by Nate Strange with 12 points and Matt Poutsma and David Neal with 11 each.
In another nonconference game:
Concordia 76, Whittier 64--Concordia overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to outscore Whittier College, 49-28, in the second half. Josh Giles scored 25 points, including seven three-pointers, and Joel Burgess scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Concordia (5-3).
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Vanguard 93, College of Notre Dame 54--Laura Lee had 24 points and Kelly Boeke had 21 points and 18 rebounds for visiting Vanguard (9-2). Notre Dame is 3-6.
