Quiksilver Reports 25% Earnings Gain

Quiksilver Inc., the Huntington Beach surf-wear maker, reported that net income for the fourth fiscal quarter increased 25% to $7.9 million, or 34 cents a share, from $6.3 million, or 29 cents a share, a year ago. Sales for the quarter ended Oct. 31 rose 19% to $124.5 million. Net income for the year totaled $26.6 million, or $1.14 a share, 48% higher than the $18 million, or 82 cents a share, for the previous year. Sales were up 40% to $443.7 million.
