Moorpark Takes First Step in Glendale Tournament

Dan Galvanoni had 26 points and seven rebounds for Moorpark College in an 88-80 victory over El Camino in the first round of the Glendale tournament Wednesday night.
Ken Plummer added 19 points and seven rebounds for Moorpark (10-3), which plays Glendale on Friday night in a semifinal.
Glendale 88, Victor Valley 67--Reserves Mike Schnyder had 17 points and Rocky Steryo added 14 for the Vaqueros, who made 10 three-pointers in a first-round victory of the Glendale tournament.
Valley 79, Cuesta 68--Wayne Huff and Isaac Williamson each scored 17 points for the Monarchs in a Western State Conference intradivisional game in San Luis Obispo.
The Monarchs (10-4) have won nine of their last 10 games.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Valley 96, Pierce 50--Michelle Tompkins had 23 points for the Monarchs in a WSC intradivisional victory at Pierce (1-9).
Christina Magana had nine points and 12 rebounds for Valley (9-4).
Irene Rodriguez, who played for Valley two years ago but sat out last season, had 22 points for Pierce.
