Harvard-Westlake’s girls began the season without two starters who sustained what were believed to be season-ending knee injuries last summer, and the Wolverines started 1-2.
Harvard-Westlake suffered narrow losses to state Division I runner-up Palisades and Division IV power St. Bernard.
“I still think we’re pretty good,” said Coach Brian Taylor, whose team is ranked No. 2 in Division III.
Guard Erin Stepheson returned to the lineup last week, several months ahead of schedule.
“She got cleared by a doctor faster than anyone in history,” Taylor said.
Rolake Bamgbose, a 6-1 All-Southern Section senior center, has begun rehabilitation and could rejoin the team in February.
