The City Council elected Al Ethans mayor Tuesday evening before the last council meeting of the year. Ethans, a retired McDonnell Douglas aerospace engineer, was elected to the council in 1996.
This year Ethans served as mayor pro tem. Councilman William C. Estrada was named to replace Ethans.
