Pacific Sunwear Will Sponsor ESPN Event

Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. said Wednesday that it will sponsor ESPN’s 2000 Winter X Games in Mt. Snow, Vt., and launch a yearlong television advertising campaign in February.
The Anaheim casual apparel retailer expects to air about 1,000 television spots during the year, mainly on sports, comedy and music stations.
In addition, Pacific Sunwear will increase its national print advertising substantially, mainly in magazines aimed at teenagers and young adults. The company recently hired Bates USA, a national ad agency, to help with the campaign.
