Man Arrested on Rape Charge

A man was arrested Monday for investigation of rape after forcing a woman to go home with him at gunpoint, police said.
Reggie McElroy, 36, allegedly pulled a handgun on his ex-girlfriend in Playa del Rey on Saturday night and forced her to go to his Chatsworth apartment, said Capt. Jim Miller, of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Division.
McElroy allegedly kept her there for nearly 24 hours and sexually assaulted her repeatedly, Miller said.
McElroy drove the woman back to Playa del Rey on Sunday, and she reported the incident to police, Miller said. The woman had tried unsuccessfully to break off her relationship with McElroy, Miller said.
McElroy is being held in lieu of $1-million bail.
