Allergan Inc. said Monday that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved the marketing of the company’s Alocril solution for the treatment of itch associated with allergic conjunctivitis. Allergan expects to launch the product by March.

Kaplan, who heads the Irvine eye care company’s research and development. “This technology provides Allergan with an opportunity to further penetrate a rapidly growing segment of the ophthalmic market.”
