Two of the week’s better matchups take place today with second-ranked Mater Dei (6-1-1) traveling to fifth-ranked Fountain Valley (4-1) and third-ranked Woodbridge (3-0) at eighth-ranked Santa Ana (3-2). Mater Dei’s only loss was out of the county in the Corona Centennial tournament and Fountain Valley’s only loss came to top-ranked Santa Margarita, 2-1, on Wednesday. Baron forward Cliff McKinley has been a force, scoring six goals in five games.
