6 States May Join to Cut Drug Costs

New England legislators are considering combining their six states’ populations into a purchasing group to get deep discounts for prescription drugs from drug makers, the Boston Globe reported. Prescription drug expenditures are rising 15% a year and cost increases threaten to surpass total hospital expenditures in the next year or two, the Globe said.
