In a planned transition, Earl Pearlman retired Thursday as president and chief executive of MTI Technology Corp., and Thomas P. Raimondi Jr. was named to replace him.
The Anaheim maker of data storage products said that Pearlman, 56, and directors have been discussing for a year his desire to retire by the end of December. “The timing just became right,” said Kevin J. Liebl, a company spokesman.
Raimondi, who had been chief operating officer, has held a number of senior executive positions since joining the company in 1987.
The company’s stock gained $1.63 cents Thursday to close at $31.19 in Nasdaq trading.
