Newport Harbor d. Stockton Lincoln, 15-12, 15-6, 15-7--Krista Dill, a 6-foot-2 senior who has committed to Duke, had 16 kills and three blocks to help Newport Harbor (26-1) win its second consecutive Division I state title and its fourth state title overall, tying Corona del Mar, Mountain View St. Francis and San Diego Francis Parker.
Newport Harbor is the first school to win consecutive Division I state titles since Corona del Mar won in 1992 and ’93. Irvine, with future U.S. Olympian Bev Oden, also won consecutive Division I titles in 1987 and ’88.
April Ross had 18 kills and three blocks for Newport Harbor.
Santa Margarita d. Mountain View St. Francis, 16-14, 16-4, 5-15, 15-7--Michelle Davis had 20 kills and six blocks to help Santa Margarita win its first state title.
Monique Gerlach, who has committed to Colorado, had 22 kills and 11 blocks and Caroline Skacel had 20 kills with no hitting errors for the Eagles (23-6).
Kelly Corbett had 21 kills for St. Francis (28-2).
Notre Dame Academy d. Menlo, 15-4, 15-5, 15-12--Mari Bell had 22 assists and eight kills and Sabreen Wilkes had 13 kills and eight blocks to lead Notre Dame Academy (25-3) to the Division IV championship, its first state title.
Ripon Christian d. San Juan Capistrano St. Margaret’s, 15-13, 15-11, 5-15, 15-13--Ripon Christian (23-5) won the Division V championship behind Melissa Niewig, who had 13 kills and led her school to its first state title.
