TARZANA — One woman was killed and another injured in a car accident Friday night on Ventura Boulevard, police said.
Police did not immediately release the names of the victims, who were in the same car and were described as elderly.
Their car was struck around 7:20 p.m. by an oncoming auto as they turned left onto Reseda Boulevard. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition, said nursing supervisor Meg Sebeny.
The driver of the other vehicle, a man, was not hurt.
Sgt. Rod Grahek of the Los Angeles Police Department said police had not determined which driver was at fault.
