George Hurley isn’t the only member of his family preparing a team for the semifinals.

Ethan Hurley, son of the longtime Newbury Park coach, is an assistant at Sahuaro High in Tucson, Ariz., which has advanced to the state 4-A semifinals.

Newbury Park has played Sahuaro twice, losing, 31-28, last season and winning, 32-28, in 1997.

Ryan Hurley, Ethan’s brother, also will have a busy weekend. He is the left guard at Ventura College, which plays Hancock in a bowl game Saturday at Rio Mesa High.
