PLAYA DEL REY — Two men dressed in black barged into a house in Playa del Rey on Tuesday night, tied up a housekeeper, fatally shot the homeowner and then fled with some property, police said.
At 9:20 p.m., police received a call about a robbery in progress in the 3300 block of Rindge Avenue. Authorities did not say who the call was from.
“The two male suspects . . . shot the homeowner and, at this point, we don’t know why,” said Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Jason Lee. “They then took unknown property and fled.”
When officers arrived, they found the male homeowner dead and the housekeeper tied up but uninjured.
“Officers have cordoned off the area and are currently conducting a perimeter search for the suspects,” Lee said.
