Rough Road Got You Down? Speak Up

Do you travel a route that’s too well-worn a path? You and your vehicle don’t have to simply brake, grin and bear it. The California Department of Transportation manages about 15,000 miles of highway and 24,000 bridges within the state highway system, which includes state routes, interstate highways or freeways and U.S. highways in California.
Here are telephone numbers and addresses to which you can direct reports of rough or unsafe stretches of freeway:

District 7, 120 S. Spring St., Los Angeles, CA 90012
(213) 897-3656
Orange County
District 12, 3347 Michelson Drive, Suite 100, Irvine, CA 92612
(949) 724-2607
San Bernardino/Riverside Counties
District 8, State Government Center, 464 W. 4th St.,

You can also e-mail a Maintenance Problem Report Form to complain about a trouble spot. Be sure to include the highway number, county, nearest city or town and major cross street or overpass, direction of traffic, a description of the problem and your e-mail address. The form can be found at https://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/maint/forms.htm#Report.
For city streets, contact the appropriate municipal government office.
