McCLOUD--A melodrama loosely based on the history of this former logging town is the centerpiece of Heritage Days next weekend, Aug. 20-22. The melodrama and dinner ($8.50) kick off the event 5-8 p.m. Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, festivities include arts and crafts on Main Street and train rides through logging country. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. Train ride prices start at $10; $5 under 12. SACRAMENTO--Where would California be without Route 66? An exhibit on the historic highway is one of the attractions at the California State Fair, Friday to Sept. 6.
