Forty-five businesses will offer more than 3,000 jobs Thursday at the United Community Job Fair inside the Panorama Mall.
The free event, in its eighth year, is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Office of Education and targets entry-level employees sought by a wide range of employers.
“It’s geared toward either people who are unemployed or those who want to change their current job,” said Julie Schneider, assistant marketing director of the Panorama Mall. “Last year, we had anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 people out.”
Employers scheduled to participate include a variety of retail chains, the U.S. Postal Service and U.S. Census Bureau.
A series of job-related seminars will be held throughout the day, including filling out job applications, interviewing and writing resumes.
The fair is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Panorama Mall, at Van Nuys and Roscoe boulevards.
