As new growth is sprouting, now’s the time to do a “tree health check” to ensure the tree’s continued growth and vibrancy.
The National Arborist Assn. recommends a visual inspection that includes looking for deadwood, cracks, weak unions, cavities and decays, in addition to a check for any unusual insects or fungal organisms.
For more tree care tips, see the association’s Web site at https://www.NATLARB.com on the Internet.
To contact a National Arborist Assn. member tree care company in your area, call (800) 733-2622, weekdays from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The International Society of Arboriculture also has information about trees, including how to choose the right planting location to ensure good growth.
The society may be reached at (217) 355-9411, weekdays from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. or at https://www.ag.uiuc.edu/~isa on the Internet.
