Crash Kills Woman, 72, Injures 2 on Bus

VAN NUYS — One woman was killed and two people injured Thursday when two cars collided before hitting a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus, authorities said.
The accident, reported at 5:36 p.m., occurred in the 7000 block of Van Nuys Boulevard near Vose Street, according to Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells.
The driver of one of the vehicles, Lilian Salen, 72, of Studio City, was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center where she later died of her injuries, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Don Cox. Two people on the MTA bus were treated for minor injuries, Wells said.
