Adam Johnson
Baseball
Johnson pitched the first complete game of his college career in Fullerton’s 9-1 victory over Cal Poly San Luis Obispo last weekend. He gave up three hits and struck out 13. Johnson held the Mustangs hitless after giving up a single to the leadoff batter in the second. He walked only two.
Johnson, a sophomore from Torrey Pines, is 6-2 for the season.
THIS WEEK
Baseball: The Titans, who beat Loyola Marymount, 5-3, Wednesday, have built a 4 1/2-game lead over second-place Nevada in the Big West Conference baseball race after sweeping Cal Poly San Luis Obispo last weekend. Fullerton plays a three-game series this weekend at UC Santa Barbara.
Softball: The Titans swept a three-game series against UC Santa Barbara last weekend, moving into a first-place tie with Pacific, each with 8-4 conference records. Monica Lucatero had two home runs and nine RBIs in the series. Fullerton plays at Cal State Northridge in a doubleheader at noon Saturday and a single game at noon Sunday.
Track and field: The Titan men’s and women’s teams will host the Fullerton Open at 2:30 p.m. today, and will compete in the Cal-Nevada Championships at UC San Diego Saturday and Sunday.
