Quartz Hill def. Littlerock, 15-4, 13-15, 15-8, 15-1--Jared Corpening had 10 blocks and 15 kills for the Rebels in a Golden League victory at Quartz Hill.
Mike Kelley had 51 assists and 10 digs for Quartz Hill (11-1, 4-1).
BASEBALL
Agoura 15, Royal 11--Michael Falco hit three home runs for the Chargers in a Marmonte League upset over host Royal (12-3-1, 5-1).
Falco, a senior outfielder who has signed with Pepperdine, has 11 home runs this season, including eight in six games.
Falco hit a two-run homer in the first inning, a three-run blast in the fifth and a solo shot in the seventh, and also drove in a run with a fielder’s choice. He has driven in 39 runs, 21 during the six-game span on 13-of-17 hitting.
Nick Tillman had two home runs and a two-run double for Agoura (7-9, 1-5).
Westlake 8, Simi Valley 1--Kevin Howard hit a double and a home run for the Warriors in a Marmonte League game at Westlake.
Howard’s two-run homer, his seventh, came in the first inning, and he had three RBIs. John Sheppard hit a two-run homer in the fourth.
Mike Alba (5-1) had six strikeouts, one walk and gave up one earned run in six innings for Westlake (12-3-1, 4-2).
Newbury Park 13, Moorpark 11--Ryan Shipton had three hits and two RBIs for host Newbury Park in a Marmonte League game at Moorpark. Newbury Park (10-6, 3-3) held off a two-run Musketeer rally in the seventh.
Grant 7, Reseda 4--Felipe Tetelboin and Mike Marble each drove in two runs for the Lancers (14-4, 8-1) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Grant. Marble had three hits, including a run-scoring double, and Tetelboin, whose 16-game hitting streak ended Tuesday in a loss to Sylmar, had two hits.
Alex Ubeda had two hits and three stolen bases for Grant (14-4, 8-1). Reseda’s Kevin Bush had two hits, including a two-run double.
Palmdale 4, Quartz Hill 3--Chris Testa stole four bases and scored the winning run on a groundout for the Falcons at Palmdale. Testa walked, stole second and third bases and then scored for the Falcons (11-5, 5-1).
Lancaster 18, Highland 7--Mike Hewson had four hits and four RBIs, including a two-run home run, for Lancaster (11-5, 6-2) in a Golden League game against host Highland (11-6, 5-2).
Valencia 6, Saugus 4--Richie Martin hit a two-run home run in the seventh for host Valencia (10-7-1, 2-5-1) in a Foothill League matchup. Martin also hit a three-run home run in the first inning and has 12 this season.
Fillmore 8, Carpinteria 5--John Vega had two hits, including a three-run triple, and Ben Ibarra added two hits for the host Flashes (10-2-1, 3-2) in a Tri-Valley League victory.
