Visitors will find superheroes, games, pony rides and more than 100 exhibits at a fair Sunday being held in conjunction with a walkathon sponsored by the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Foundation of Southern California.
All proceeds from admission to the fair and a portion of vendor sales will go to the SIDS Foundation, Executive Director Margot Bennett said.
“We will probably raise more money than ever before,” Bennett said. “We will really be able to spend money on education, research and outreach about SIDS.”
There were 328 SIDS-related deaths in California in 1997, the most recent year available, Bennett said.
The five-mile SIDS walk starts at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. Admission is free for people who make a donation to the SIDS Foundation and participate in the walk. For everyone else, admission is $5.
The fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Westlake Hyatt Plaza Hotel, 880 S. Westlake Blvd. For more information, call the SIDS Foundation at (626) 568-3263.
