To Would-Be Victim, Robber Is a Little Squirt

HANOVER, Va. — A would-be robber who tried to hold up a country store with a squirt gun was countered by the store’s owner, who pulled out the real thing, authorities said.
When Hanover County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the Beaverdam Quick Stop on Friday, they found 19-year-old Ronnie W. Taylor face down on the floor. His squirt gun was a few feet away.
It was Taylor who looked relieved when officers arrived, authorities said: Standing over him was store owner Steve Webb, who held a very real .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol.
“I don’t think he blinked the whole 10 minutes he was on the floor,” Webb’s wife and co-owner, Pat Webb, said.
