The Cypress Recreation and Park District has extended the Youth in Government Day application deadline until Friday because of increased interest in the event. The program allows high school students to see firsthand how their city functions. They will spend the day on May 10 with a city representative. Applications are available at the Cypress Community Center, 5700 Orange Ave. Information: (714) 229-6780.
