Scrabble competitors from all over North America will descend on the Hilton Hotel on April 17 and 18 to participate in a local club’s fifth annual tournament. The event, which last year drew about 85 people from Mexico, Canada and numerous states, will begin at 9 a.m. on both days. Player reservations must be made by April 14 to Gina Du Mez, event director, at (949) 586-2378. Du Mez’s Scrabble club meets in Lake Forest at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays; new members are always welcome, she said.
