CSUN Gives Free Tax Help to Low-Income Families
- Share via
Cal State Northridge student volunteers will provide income tax preparation assistance to low-income families and individuals through April 15.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, offered through the College of Business Administration and Economics, is in its 28th year. About 300 CSUN students undergo intensive training and then collectively prepare an average of 10,000 state and federal tax returns each year.
Families earning less than $40,000 per year can have a basic return prepared at no charge at one of 15 assistance centers in the Valley and other areas of Los Angeles.
Taxpayers should bring a copy of last year’s return, W-2 forms, interest and dividend statements, records for deductions, receipts and a voided check for electronic filing.
For more information call the program at (818) 677-4519.
