Mayor John Collins and City Manager Raymond H. Kromer made a presentation to the Fountain Valley School District board recently to explain the city’s interest in using a closed school site to build a senior center and senior housing. The site, at Bushard Street and Talbert Avenue, will be available when the district’s lease with Rossier Enterprises Inc. expires in June 2000.
The city approached the district in January 1998 about the site, and the two have been in preliminary discussions since, said Paul Burkart, assistant superintendent of business and administration.
