Eight new police officers joined the ranks of the Police Department on Thursday. The department now has 150 sworn personnel, its greatest strength in its 24-year history. Six of the officers recently graduated from the Orange County Sheriff’s Academy. The other two transferred from the Menlo Park and Montebello police departments.
