Grant to Help Fund Survey on Libraries

The Ojai Valley Library Foundation wants to get a better idea of what local residents expect from their libraries, and can thank a major oil company for helping out.
The foundation has received a $3,000 grant from the Arco Foundation of Los Angeles to support a community needs assessment--a survey that will be used to strengthen library services.
“This award will help us develop a more strategic approach in our efforts to enhance library services in the Ojai Valley,” said Nita Whaley, foundation president.
The foundation, which operates homework centers at the Ojai, Meiners Oaks and Oak View libraries to provide students with homework assistance, is looking for additional corporate partners as it investigates how to extend services to a broader segment of the community.
