City officials are accepting applications to fill a City Council seat left vacant after a councilwoman moved.
The council last week accepted the resignation of Councilwoman Asha Greenberg, who recently moved to Bel-Air and became ineligible to serve on the council.
Applicants for the vacant seat must live in Santa Monica and be registered to vote. Applications are available at the City Clerk’s office and can be obtained online from pen.ci.santa-monica.ca.us.
City officials will accept applications through Nov. 5, but have urged applicants to submit letters, resumes and applications to the City Clerk’s office by noon on Oct. 27.
The appointee’s term will end in November 2000. If no appointment is made before Nov. 10, the council would be required to call a special municipal election.
