Woman, 79, Dies After Being Struck by a Car

A 79-year-old woman was hit by a car and killed Wednesday as she crossed Brookhurst Street at Continental Drive, police said.
Lucile Rita Dale of Huntington Beach was hit by a car driven by a 62-year-old woman, also of Huntington Beach, at 2:43 p.m., police said.
Witnesses immediately called for help. Paramedics took Dale to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where she was pronounced dead.
The intersection does not have a crosswalk, Lt. Larry Miller said. The motorist stopped her car immediately after the incident and was not cited.
“It appears speed is not going to be a factor in this investigation,” Miller said.
An investigation continues.
