Family Child Care Homes

Thank you for the fine article that appeared in The Times on Sept. 22 regarding the Los Angeles Mission College Family Child Care Homes Network Program.
We are very appreciative of the coverage, however, I would like to clarify one point that may cause a misunderstanding. No children are in attendance for 24 hours. State regulations do not allow this in a family child care home. The providers are merely available for that length of time every day with the appropriate assistance, as state laws require. I’d also like to mention that both providers, who are offering the 24-hour care, are accredited and striving to offer the highest quality care to the children they serve.
