Los Amigos trailed by six points at halftime but used a 73-yard touchdown run by Anthony Faletoi to rally and defeat Rancho Alamitos, 33-31, and tie Pacifica for the Garden Grove League championship.
The Vaqueros (4-6, 2-4) failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 1990. The Lobos (7-3, 5-1) will go into the playoffs as the league’s second-seeded team because it lost to Pacifica.
Andrew Niumata gained 157 yards for the Lobos. Lauti Sakoria had three touchdown passes for Rancho Alamitos.
