A look at the four Laker-Seattle games this season:
* JANUARY 24: SEATTLE 101, LAKERS 95: Nick Van Exel was only two for 12 from three-point range and the Lakers only three for 24. From the free-throw line, the Lakers made only 20 of 34 (58.8%). Starting forwards Robert Horry and Rick Fox were outscored by Seattle’s Vin Baker and Detlef Schrempf, 42-1.
* FEBRUARY 13: SEATTLE 113, LAKERS 108, overtime: Shaquille O’Neal scored 44 points but the Lakers were only five for 25 from three-point range, the main difference in a competitive game.
* MARCH 16: SEATTLE 101, LAKERS 89: Gary Payton had 27 points and nine assists and the SuperSonics took a 19-point halftime lead. The Lakers made a late run to tie the score, but Seattle dominated the final six minutes of the game.
* MARCH 20: LAKERS 93, SEATTLE 80: O’Neal had 24 points and 16 rebounds and the Lakers went on a 16-1 run in the second quarter. Seattle only scored 38 points in the first half as the Laker defense dominated the game.
