Kids’ Fund-Raiser Needs Helpers, Items

OXNARD — With an auction and dinner fund-raiser for county youths less than six weeks away, organizers need more volunteers and auction items, an official said Saturday.
The annual Auction for the Boys & Girls clubs of Oxnard and Port Hueneme is scheduled June 12 at the Lobster Trap restaurant in Channel Islands Harbor.
“This event is not only a great meal and entertainment but a major part of our annual fund-raising to serve almost 4,000 youth in our communities,” said Oxnard City Councilman Dean Maulhardt, auction chairman.
People interested may contact the office of the director of special events for the clubs at 981-1789.
The Boys & Girls clubs of Oxnard and Port Hueneme operate seven branches.
