Legislator Wants to Wipe Clinton’s Name Off the Map

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A New Jersey legislator is so angered by Bill Clinton’s alleged sexual exploits he wants to wipe the president’s name off the map.
Republican Michael Carroll submitted a bill in the state legislature to rename this town of 12,451 people and its sister Town of Clinton, with 2,400 residents.
The proposed new names? Reagan Township and the Town of Reagan, in honor of the former president.
Residents are not amused.
“I think it’s silly,” Township Clerk Lois Terreri said Friday. “It’s a waste of taxpayers’ money,” she added, complaining she had spent two days answering phone calls from residents and media.
Carroll, who acknowledged that the bill is frivolous and will not be voted on, said he wanted to send a message to Clinton--the president, that is--that these strongly Republican towns do not want to be associated with him.
