Simi Schools Superintendent

Re the letter “Simi Schools Job,” March 1.

I am surprised at the cavalier attitude some of your readers have concerning the firing of yet another superintendent of Simi Valley schools. Let’s look at the story.

The school board hires an individual that it knows has no district office experience. No other candidate is considered. After three months that individual is fired for not getting the job done. In the words of some of my students, “Duh!”

It is too bad that the school board feels no commitment to employees. I know that if the trustees did their jobs better, the unemployment rate in Ventura County would substantially decrease.
