Police Seek Leads in Death of Woman Found in Trash Room

Homicide detectives investigating the death of a 46-year-old woman whose body was found on the floor of a trash room near a Hollywood apartment building continued interviewing neighborhood residents Tuesday.
The cause of death is under investigation.
Police discovered the body at about 7:20 a.m. Monday at 5741 Carlton Way, said Los Angeles Police Det. David Lambkin. Detectives determined that the victim died from some type of “physical assault,” he said.
The victim, a transient, was last seen alive Monday, Lambkin said. Her name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
