Edison Capital Leases

IRVINE — Edison Capital, a financial services firm, recently closed two lease investments totaling $342 million in power plants in South Africa and the Netherlands.
Edison Capital, a subsidiary of Edison International, invested $250 million in a transaction involving two 670-megawatt, coal-fired units that are part of the six-unit, 4,110-megawatt Majuba power station. The power station is located outside of Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Irvine financing firm also invested $92 million in the Eems power station in the Netherlands. Last May, Edison Capital put $188 million into the 1,675-megawatt facility.
