Drivers Sought for Daffodil Days Benefit

As part of its annual effort to deliver daffodils for sale and raise funds for a cure, the American Cancer Society is seeking 100 volunteer drivers for Monday and March 17. The society hopes to raise $340,000 through its Daffodil Days campaign, said Dot Kramer, regional special events specialist.
Drivers are needed to deliver bouquets to businesses, schools, homes, and anonymously to area cancer patients.
“People think it’s one of the greatest things that happened to them that day,” said Jeanne Russell, a Daffodil Days Orange County co-chairwoman. “It brightens their day.”
Those unable to drive can help by purchasing bouquets.
Although the society is no longer taking orders, bouquets will be available at three locations: the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, Tent No. 8, Sunday and Monday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, Monday 9 a.m to 1 p.m.; and the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop at 272 E. La Paz Road, Suite E, in Laguna Niguel, Monday 10 a.m to 6 p.m.
